the trials and tribulations of gigging in new england

My first blog entry. Its not bad in here. A little cool maybe. Decorated nicely though. Some old familiar friends made it to the party. Lets see…we have "writers block" over there by the bar telling my girlfriend I'm no good for her. Over by the pooltable there is "the nagging pressure to write something pithy and clever". What kind of place is this anyway. Guess they let in any old riff raff.

Current patrons aside, lets get down to business. Any self effacing, under paid, overworked, disrespected, and "unappreciated by everyone but the fans" musicans blog should have some kind of mission statement. It will be the undaunted vocation of this blogger, and the noble intention of this blog, to expose the existence of a New England area performing artist for what it really is. For good or ill, it is my solemn vow to be as truthful and accurate as possible in disceminating how truly awful and sublimely wonderful being a gigging musician can be. I can't say that the blog will contain no bias on my part because: a- i am writing it, and b- artists are seldom asked to create without adding there own bias to the creation. In fact, its ones own biases that set said artists creation apart from his or her peers creations. Wow, my first blog entry and I'm already the proud father of a brand new bouncing baby off-topic digression. I'm so proud.

So this is the place huh. I think I'm gonna like it here. Cyberspace can be a lonely place though. Be sure to leave comments if you are so inclined. Good or bad all are welcome. Truth and honesty are always the special on tap so get those keyboards locked and loaded. Thats all for now. Breaks over. Time to hit the stage.
